January 30, 2025

The seminar topics of the Department of Finance for the upcoming summer semester are now online! In the seminars we deal with the topic "Focus on Trends – how new developments change the financial markets"

Seminar topic: Focus on Trends – how new developments change the financial markets

In the summer semester 2025, we ask ourselves: What trends are driving the financial markets? How strongly do ETF investors influence capital flows in emerging markets? What role does social media play in trading, and why do we keep experiencing phenomena such as the “GameStop case”? Are cryptocurrencies just hype or do they have fundamental drivers that determine their returns? We take a close look at current developments and scrutinize their impact on investors and markets.

We explore these questions in the seminars of the Department of Finance. Using selected academic literature, we examine various topics that are relevant to trends and changes in the world of finance and supplement existing research with our own new analyses. We offer the opportunity to get to know the databases at the Chair, to work with financial market data and to conduct your own empirical studies based on scientific articles from international journals.

Further information can be found in the seminar announcement linked below and here on our website.

Registration is still possible until April 10th 2025. We look forward to seeing you!
