IoT-Laboratory

Dept. VIII: Information Systems II

Research and teaching in the field of digitization, Internet of Things, Industry 4.0.

Research

Research questions that can be processed using the IoT laboratory, for example:

  • What benefits can augmented reality solutions achieve in the field of smart production?
  • What challenges arise when building and operating a production facility in Industry 4.0?
  • To what extent can concepts such as platform ecosystems and cloud manufacturing support the future of production?

IoT Demonstrator

As part of a study project, an IoT demonstrator is to be developed and built, with the help of which processes, problems and opportunities of the IoT can be visualized and discussed in an industrial context.

Teaching

Theses are regularly offered on the topics of software-intensive business, digitization, cloud manufacturing and the Internet of Things. The use of the IoT laboratory is particularly suitable for these subject areas. Furthermore, regular use of the laboratory in various courses is aimed for.
