Hans-Gerd Servatius, born 1952, studied technical chemistry and process engineering at the University of Dortmund (Dipl.-Ing.) and industrial engineering at the TH Aachen (Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing.). Besides his occupational activity he received his doctorate (1985) and habilitated (1991) in business administration at the University of Stuttgart, where he teaches as a honorary professor since 1994. Initially at the chair for General Business Administration and Planning held by Prof. Erich Zahn and since 2008 at the chair for general business administration and organization.

Professor Servatius is founder of the Management Systems Network and of the innovation specialist Competivation with its headquarter in Düsseldorf. The focus of this network of experienced consultants, practitioners and scientists lies within management consulting, development of managers and research. Before that Mr. Servatius had several manager positions in international consulting firms. He is the author or rather co-author of 9 books, management seminars and more than 130 professional articles. In his new book „Der Innovationsmanager“ the question on how organizations can design innovation systems successfully is dealt with by practitioners and scientists.
