General Information
- The module "Seminar" can only be taken, if you have already completed one module offered by the Department of Business Administration and Marketing:
- B.Sc.: Marketing I, especially Marketing II
- M.Sc.: Product and Price Management, Elective Module Marketing

- For a successful participation in the seminar, registration via the website of the Chair of Marketing is necessary. The registration period as well as the necessary registration form can be found here under "6. Registration for the seminar"!
- Bachelor Seminar: Mandatory elective module, 5th semester
- Master Seminar: Mandatory elective module, 3rd semester
- Credits: 6
- Semester hours: 2
- The seminar is offered each semester (winter semester and summer semester).
- Please see C@mpus for the specific dates of the seminar sessions.
- Registration:
- Admission to the seminar is granted only after successful application via the application form below. A confirmation of admission will be issued within a week of the deadline for applications.
- Additionally, you need to register in C@mpus during the regular registration period for exams.
- Topics for seminar papers in our department are currently available in the following areas:
- Customer Experience (Management)
- Digital Marketing
- Marketing and innovative technologies
- Sustainability Marketing
- Topics currently on offer for the bachelor seminar
- Topics currently on offer for the master seminar
Seminar paper (70%)
- Bachelor students should write 10-12 pages (+/- 10%) in German or in English.
- Master students should write 12-14 pages (+/-10%) in German or English.
- The page requirements apply per person and do not include figures as well as tables.
- All papers should be written in accordance with the guidelines of the department VI und need to contain a statutoy declaration (an example can be found in the guidelines).
Presentation (20%)
- Content: presentation & moderated discussion.
- Bachelor students should aim for a 10-15 minute presentation + 5 minutes of discussion per person.
- Master students should aim for a 15-20 minute presentation + 5-10 minutes of discussion per person.
- The presentation may be held in German or in English.
Participation in discussions (10%)
- During the discussion of seminar presentations, you are expected to critically reflect on the topics presented as well as to ask questions on the methodology and/or the results.
To pass the seminar, you need to register successfully and be present at the kick-off meeting, the mandatory session to discuss your table of contents as well as the final session of presentations.
